BSc in Mass Communication Science (University of Indonesia), Research MA in Media Studies (Universiteit van Amsterdam, StuNed scholarship).
Research interests include Indonesian studies, critical theory, Neo and Post Marxism, political economy, media and identity, nationalism, socio-cultural practices of Islam; all in relation to television, film and internet studies.
My current PhD thesis (Asia Research Centre, Murdoch University - Australian Leadership Awards scholarship) is a critical discourse analysis on the dynamic between Islamic representation, national identity and Indonesia's television industry. Prior to pursuing my postgraduate degree, I worked for several media NGOs (i.e. public awareness campaigns, journalism training, media advocacy, etc). I am also a Media Studies lecturer at the Department of Communication Science, University of Indonesia.
